lyrics

STRANGE FLOWERS

Seems like the whole world's watching
Yet the money's spent to keep us blind (they've gouged us blind)
Seems like the heart's still beating
But who's to speak as for the mind? (We've lost our minds)

Blood on the land
Makes for strange flowers to be grown
Blood on our hands
Once the truth is finally known

Seems like history's repeating
As we're gorged on lies and fed on fear (we dine on fear)
Seems like the money's winning
When will we say the end is near? (The end's not near)

The government fears the day people will wake up and see
That for them there's no accountability
And that their crimes are our responsibility
As we are distracted from the grim reality

One nation under the god of oligarchy
Its people sacrificed to the wolves of hypocrisy
Bereft of any true sense of equality
And denied a chance at every opportunity

Our leaders drunk on manifest destiny
Their bellies filled with moral bankruptcy
As they grasp ever tightly to their precious hierarchy
We sit and wonder what happened to the old country

When the best option left is silence
We've not much longer left to fall
The loudest lies are always financed
We're much too deaf to hear the call
Hear The Call

about

Heathen Apostles Los Angeles, California

"If there is such a thing in the current fringe roots genre as a supergroup, it would certainly be the Los Angeles-based dark roots and gothic country band Heathen Apostles, who includes ex-members of Radio Noir (Mather Louth), The Cramps (Chopper Franklin), Kings of Nuthin’ (Thomas Lorioux) in its ranks. That is one hell of a lineup." - No Depression Magazine ... more
